Concept & Materials Direction

A thoughtful design package created to bring clarity and confidence to your renovation or new home project — before the overwhelm sets in.

Ideal for clients seeking an overall design direction for their home, including materials, colour palette, visual concept development and early spatial thinking.

When everything feels possible, it can also feel overwhelming.

Many clients come to me feeling unsure how to pull everything together.

They may have saved hundreds of inspiration images, started selecting finishes, or be working with existing architecture they love but don’t quite know how to evolve.

The result is often decision fatigue, uncertainty, and the fear of creating a home that feels disconnected or boring.

This package is designed to bring clarity to the process — creating a cohesive vision that guides future decisions with ease.

What’s Included:

Colour palette guidance

Visual concept boards

Furniture and styling direction

Early design problem solving

Space planning

Overall design direction

Materials and finishes direction

Joinery and kitchen concept

*Each project is tailored — inclusions may vary depending on your scope and needs.

A cohesive vision for your home.

This process is designed to bring clarity and cohesion to your home, creating a strong overall direction that feels thoughtful, aligned and deeply personal. Clients often leave feeling calmer, more confident in their decisions and emotionally connected to the vision for their home. With a clear design direction in place, moving forward becomes far more exciting and less overwhelming.

Inside the Process

All the best spaces evolve through collaboration.

This package is a collaborative design process — not simply a one-off presentation. We’ll meet several times throughout the project (typically via pre-booked video calls) to review concepts, refine ideas and gradually shape a cohesive direction for your home.

During these sessions, I’ll often share my screen so you can see the design evolving in real time — from materials and palettes through to layouts, visual concepts and spatial thinking. Each project moves at its own pace, with space for feedback, reflection and refinement along the way.

Some clients come with existing architectural plans, while others may only have a real estate listing or early ideas to work from. Either way, I’ll guide you through what’s needed before we begin and tailor the process to suit the home, project stage and level of support required.

With an 1870s cottage to renovate and style, we found that despite researching and trying colour boards we just couldn’t find the look that we wanted. We had hit a wall in terms of where to go and how to recognise the potential of our property.

After finding Verity and discussing a broad idea of what we were after she soon returned a range of design and looks.

Wow!! The perfect colour combinations, ideas on decoration and furniture placements, and additional styling tips.

Verity made some great choices to maximise the sense of space; advised re lighting options to emphasise the best features and to add warmth to others.

It has been our third project with Verity and we have enjoyed how dynamic it is, as we fed in our dreams and wish list, Verity translated them into a lovely, well balanced rooms flowing into each other, maintaining a harmonious flow.

We are so happy with how our lovely little cottage has now realised its full potential and looks so beautiful. It has been such an easy and fun process working with Verity; we will be doing it again, and thoroughly recommend her.
